PHL Embassy in Egypt Talks Civil Registry and Dual Citizenship with Filipino Community
26 August 2017 CAIRO, EGYPT – The Philippine Embassy in Egypt hosted a talk with the Filipino community on civil registry and dual citizenship issues as part of its continuing efforts to mainstream Gender and Development (GAD). The talk aims to emphasize the importance of filing Reports of Marriage and Reports of Birth with the Embassy, as well as to clarify the process of filing such reports. The Embassy also discussed dual citizenship under Republic Act No. 9225, or the Citizenship Retention and Re-acquisition Act of 2003. Filipinas who had acquired Egyptian citizenship were informed about the qualifications and procedures for retaining or reacquiring Philippine citizenship under R.A. 9225.
