CHED Delegation Visits Brunei Darussalam for Gender Mainstreaming Research

31 August 2017 BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN – Officials from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Technical Panel for Gender and Women Studies and Presidents of selected State Universities visited Brunei Darussalam for gender mainstreaming research in preparation for the ASEAN Integration Working Group Conference on Gender Mainstreaming in Higher Education. The Philippines will host the conference on December 2017.

One of the highlights of the delegations’ visit to Brunei was a meeting with Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Suyoi bin Haji Osman, Brunei Minister of Education and key officials of the Ministry on 17 August 2017 at the Minister’s Office, Ministry of Education. The meeting discussed both Brunei and the Philippines’ Gender and Development (GAD) programs. The CHED delegation also invited the Honorable Minister and officials of the MoE to the conference.

The delegation also met with Dr. Joyce Teo, Assistant Vice-Chancellor of the Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) and other officials of the UBD. Both the CHED delegation and UBD officials took this opportunity to collaborate more on the exchange student program between the two countries.
