Seminar-Workshop on Protocol Practices and Social Graces Successfully Conducted in Prague, Czech Republic

07 November 2017 PRAGUE — A Seminar-Workshop on Protocol Practices and Social Graces was successfully conducted by the Office of Protocol (OP) at M Gallery Hotel, Prague, Czech Republic on October 27. The workshop was held back to back with HRMO’s gender and development (GAD) training from October 22 to 26.
The workshop, which was formally opened by Philippine Charge d’ Affaires, a.i., Juan Dayang Prague and OP Assistant Secretary Jerril G. Santos, was attended by 21 representatives from various Philippines Posts in Europe.
It was the first among series of regional workshops planned by the Office of Protocol. The seminar-workshop was designed as a retooling course for all posts in Europe on the fundamentals of protocol procedures and social etiquette, particularly in standardizing protocol practices for Embassy-hosted events.
Acting Director for Ceremonials, Mr. Gilbert Segarra facilitated the topic on Protocol Practices while Acting Director for Social, Mr. Gabriel Bautista covered the topic on Social Graces. Some participants volunteered in simulation exercises regarding conduct of courtesy calls and hosting of a formal dinner.
