PHL Embassy in Manama Commemorates 121st Anniversary of the Martyrdom of Dr. Jose P. Rizal

03 January 2018 MANAMA ā The Order of the Knights of Rizal (OKOR) in cooperation with the Philippine Embassy commemorated the 121st Anniversary of the Martyrdom of Philippine National Hero Dr. Jose P. Rizal with a Flag Raising at the Embassy Grounds on 30 December 2017.
The flag-raising ceremony was followed by a program, which consisted of the singing of the National Anthem led by the Philippine School Bahrain Performing Arts Groups, Oath of Allegiance to the Filipino flag by OKOR Knight of Rizal Sir Arvin Yanglay. Invocation was led by Mr. Jim Robert B. Gamul, Knight Officer of Rizal, followed by recitation of Rizalian Oath, Code of Ethics and Pledge to the Flag by Knights of Rizal Sir Amado Taduran, Sir Eduardo O. Hernandes, and Sir Ricardo Ayuyao. A floral Offering was made by Charge dā Affaires Vice Consul Joaquin Ricardo R. Aragon and the Knights of Rizal. The Philippine School Bahrain Performing Arts Groups also re-enacted the martyrdom of Dr. Rizal during the program.
KCR Advisor and Past Chapter Commander Sir Elpidio R. Quitevis, who reminisced on the life of Rizal followed by Charge Dā Affaires Vice Consul Joaquin Ricardo R. Aragon delivered his inspirational message on the said occasion at the end of the program.
As part of the event, the Philippine Nurses Association (PNA) under the leadership of Mr. Benny Garces conducted a Medical Mission after the program. END
