PH Embassy Participates in the “ASEAN Goes to School” Project at Mentari Intercultural High School, Jakarta, Indonesia

JAKARTA 10 August 2023 – The Philippine Embassy in Jakarta, Indonesia participated in the 'ASEAN Goes to School' held at the Mentari Intercultural High School in Jakarta,  on 08 Auhust 2023 which was attended by approximately 400 junior and senior high school students. Third Secretary and Vice Consul Glenn Joseph D. Teh presented recent highlights of Philippine-Indonesia bilateral relations, including the cooperation agreements on Creative Economy, Cultural Cooperation, and Plan of Action, that were signed by the two countries during the State Visit of President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. on 05 September 2022. Third Secretary Teh added that the Philippines and Indonesia will commemorate their 75^th Anniversary of Bilateral Relations in 2024 through various cooperative activities.

Mr. Teh also presented an informative video on Sentro Rizal and invited Mentari students and teachers to visit the Embassy’s Sentro Rizal Jakarta library for more information on Philippine culture, history, and tourism.

In celebration of the 56^th Anniversary of the ASEAN Day, to welcome the upcoming 43^rd ASEAN Summit, and to increase public awareness about ASEAN, the ASEAN Goes to School was organized by the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in cooperation with the ASEAN Embassies, Missions and various High Schools in Jakarta.
