AMMAN 24 June 2024 - Ambassador Wilfredo C. Santos of the Philippine Embassy in Jordan, along with other Embassy officials, graced the Independence Day celebration of two Filipino community organizations in Amman on 14 June 2024.

The Federation of Filipino Association in Amman (FEFAA), led by its President Ms. Luciana Obejas, organized their Independence Day and Migrant Worker’s Day celebration along with the opening ceremony of their Volleyball Summer League Opening, held at the Our Lady of Nazareth College in Jabal Hussein. In his inspirational message, Ambassador Santos lauded the organization for their hard work and dedication in bringing the community together. Vice Consul Sheila Marie G. Andales then led the induction of the new set of officers of FEFAA. The event also included cultural presentations of dances and song numbers.

The United Filipino Organization (UFO) also had their Independence Day celebration at the Terra Sancta College in Jabal Webdeh. Ms. Irish Villanueva, UFO President, led the event by acknowledging the importance of community support and solidarity, especially for migrant workers who are far from home. The event featured intermission numbers and various educational games.

On both occasions, Ambassador Santos had the honor of reading the Independence Day message of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. for the Filipino community, in which the President urged the Filipinos to be champions of unity and cooperation wherever they are. END
