PH Consulate General in Guangzhou Celebrates Kalayaan 2025 Together with Filipino Community

GUANGZHOU 03 July 2025 — The Philippine Consulate General in Guangzhou marked the 127th anniversary of Philippine independence with a festive celebration attended by the Filipino community on 28 June 2025.
Philippine Consul General to Guangzhou Iric C. Arribas delivered his welcome remarks, highlighting the strength, creativity, and unity of Filipinos in South China. Guests came in traditional Filipino attire and celebrated with vibrant performances of original Filipino music by local Filipino talents.
A highlight of the program was the awarding of six Guangdong-based honorees of the #MadeItInChina project, recognizing their achievements and contributions as outstanding overseas Filipinos.
Consul General Arribas took the opportunity to recognize the talents and contributions of the Filipino community in South China. “I have had the pleasure of meeting Filipino musicians, visual artists, sports organizers, community leaders, and volunteers who generously support the Consulate’s cultural activities. Your work uplifts the Filipino name and inspires pride in who we are.”
The event concluded with a reaffirmation of the shared responsibility among Filipinos abroad to promote a positive image of the Philippines and contribute to the nation’s future. “As everyday ambassadors of our country, we all have a role to play — in our workplaces, in our circles, and in how we represent the Philippines to the world,” the Consul General said.
