13 December 2016 — The Philippines condemns in the strongest terms the terrorist attacks in Egypt over the weekend, especially that on the St. Peter’s Church in Cairo, which claimed 25 innocent lives and injured dozens of others. Such heinous acts of violence in a place of worship have no place in society.
The Philippines also denounces the attack on a security checkpoint in Giza that killed six police officers in the line of duty. We continue to stand with Egypt and the international community against terrorism in all its forms.
The Filipino people are one with Egypt as it recovers from these senseless tragedies, with the hope that the perpetrators are brought swiftly to justice. END
