Outgoing Georgian Ambassador Calls on Undersecretary Teehankee

29 September 2017 MANILA – Outgoing Ambassador of Georgia to the Philippines, His Excellency Zurab Aleksidze, called on Undersecretary for International and Economic Relations Manuel Teehankee on 26 September 2017 at the Department of Foreign Affairs.

Ambassador Aleksidze will end his term as non-resident Ambassador of Georgia to the Philippines in October.

During the call, Undersecretary Teehankee, in behalf of Secretary of Foreign Affairs Alan Peter S. Cayetano, congratulated Ambassador Aleksidze on his successful term which saw closer engagements and people-to-people contacts between the Philippines and Georgia. He welcomed the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Foreign Service Institute of the Department of Foreign Affairs of the Philippines and the Levan Mikeladze Diplomatic Centre of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia. Undersecretary Teehankee also expressed the hope that bilateral relations will be enhanced further during the next round of Philippines-Georgia Political Consultations scheduled to be held early next year in Tbilisi.
