DFA Undersecretary For Policy Discusses ASEAN with Swiss Think Tanks, Portuguese Ministry of Foreign Affairs

12 July 2019 – Foreign Affairs Undersecretary for Policy Enrique A. Manalo conducted a roundtable discussion with Swiss think tanks on 02 July 2019 in Berne and a lecture at the Portuguese Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 04 July 2019 in Lisbon on the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

Undersecretary Manalo briefed the participants in Berne and in Lisbon on the latest developments in ASEAN, including the outcomes of the recent ASEAN Leaders’ Summit in Bangkok in June 2019, ASEAN-China dialogue relations, the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), and the ASEAN Outlook of the Indo-Pacific.

In Berne, the roundtable discussion organized by the Philippine Embassy in Berne was attended by Swiss think tanks represented by former Swiss Ambassador Daniel Woker,  Fletcher School's Peter Martin Freudenstein from and Swiss Forum on Foreign Policy's Markus Hermann.

In Lisbon, Undersecretary Manalo’s lecture was organized by the Philippine Embassy in Lisbon and the Portuguese Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Instituto Diplomatico (Diplomatic Institute of Portugal) under the ambit of the Philippines-Portugal Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in Diplomatic Training and Exchange of Information and Documentation.
