Universal Declaration on Archives in Filipino
21 October 2019 – The Department of Foreign Affairs Archives, in celebration of the National Archives Day, shares the Filipino translation of the Universal Declaration on Archives (UDA) or the “Pandaigdig na Pagpapahayag Ukol sa mga Artsibo.”
The UDA was initiated and adopted by the International Council on Archives (ICA) in 2010 and was endorsed by the 36th Session of the General Conference of UNESCO in Paris in 2011. It calls on governments, decision-makers, and the public to engage in archival issues.
To support the cause for archives as stipulated in the UDA, early this year, the Office of Asset Management and Support Services, through the DFA Archives, translated and submitted to the ICA the Filipino translation of the UDA. The said translation was validated as an official Filipino translation by the Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino (KWF), through its Sangay ng Salin (Translation Office). This translation is now posted on the ICA website and can be accessed through:

One with the global community in this cause, it is hoped that through the release and distribution of the UDA in a language understandable to Filipinos, the awareness and interest in the field of archives will be increased. END
