Consular Office in La Union Participates in Regional Census Coordinating Board 1st Convening for the 2020 Census of Population and Housing

LA UNION 28 November 2019 – The Department of Foreign Affairs Consular Office (CO) La Union, represented by Officer-In-Charge Estellita V. Casuga, participated in the convening of the Regional Census Coordinating Board (RCCB) for Ilocos Region for the 2020 Census of Population and Housing (CPH) which was held on 04 November 2019 at the Rosebowl Steakhouse and Restaurant, Bauang, La Union.
The Chairperson, RCCB I and The National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Regional Director Nestor G. Rillon spearheaded the said convention and informed the representatives from the various government agencies on the 2020 CPH goal which is to provide government executives, policy and decision makers, and planners with updated population and housing data, which shall be used as bases to their social and economic development plans, policies and programs in the allocation of resources at various geographic levels.
During the convention, RCCB Vice-Chairperson and Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) RSSO I Officer-In-Charge Atty. Sheila O. De Guzman provided information of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Board Resolultion No. 02 – 2019—Declaring May as National Census Month, PSA Board Resolution No. 04-2019—Enjoining Agencies to Provide Assistance to the Philippine Statistics Authority for the Conduct of the 2020 CPH, and PSA Board Resolution No. 05-2019 – Creating the national, regional, provincial, city and Municipal Census Coordinating Boards (MCCBs) for 2020 CPH.
Other highlights of the said convention were the approving of the Composition and TOR of the R/P/C/MCCBs for 2020 CPH, presentation of major results of the previous censuses of population in Region I, presentation of the 2020 CPH Primer, presentation of time table of major activities for the 2020 CPH and discussion of other matters on the conduct of 2020 CPH.
