PASAY CITY 27 March 2020 – As part of this year’s activities to support the Department of Foreign Affairs’ (DFA) shift to Competency-Based Human Resource (CBHR) Management, DFA Human Resource Management Office (DFA-HRMO) organized a two-day CBHR Workshop for its key personnel from 11 to 12 March 2020 at the Elpidio Quirino Hall, DFA.

A total of 20 participants participated in the workshop, which was facilitated by the Ateneo Center for Organization Research and Development (CORD).

The Competency-based HR workshop was designed with three objectives: to educate key personnel from HRMO around key concepts in competencies and how these are applied in the practice of HR management; to capture preliminary feedback on the redesigned Performance Management process and the prototype of the redesigned Job Fit and Behavior Form; and to have participants test the new process and redesigned form in a coaching context.

The workshop also allowed the participants to redesign their processes from recruitment, selection, placement, learning and development, and rewards and recognition, in order to make them competency-based by 2022.

The shift to competency-based HR is one of the strategic objectives of the Department. It is anchored in the DFA Strategic Plan for 2017-2022. END
