BUTUAN CITY 29 July 2020 – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Consular Office (CO) in Butuan conducted a virtual wellness activity for its personnel through Googe Meet on 28 July 2020. With the declaration of the coronavirus outbreak as pandemic and the increase of reported cases, the office adopted the Alternative Work Arrangement (AWA) as a preventive measure against the spread of the virus.
Before the start of the virtual activity, Officer-in-Charge (OIC) Rhodarora G. Zaportiza-Corvera commended the employees on a job well done during the first semester of FY 2020. She emphasized how the office was able to withstand and persist despite the pandemic and the usual set-up of employees not being able to gather physically. “Great things never come from our comfort zone,” she added.
In line with the “new normal”, the Consular Office organized the said activity to boost the wellness of its employees. The virtual activity allowed the skeleton and work from home (WFH) workforce to reconnect, bond together, and ensure everyone’s physical and mental well-being. The office aims to continue this program and has prepared an array of activities deemed essential to the employees, especially during these challenging times. END
