DFA Consular Office in Lipa Conducts 3rd Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill
LIPA 16 September 2020 — Personnel of the DFA Consular Office in Lipa, including those working from home, demonstrated the “duck, cover and hold” procedure as they took part in the conduct of the Third Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) on 10 September 2020.
The Office of Civil Defense National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) initiated the NSED in an effort to “continuously instill in the public earthquake preparedness amid the pandemic.” During the activity, CO Lipa enforced health protocols as prescribed by the prevailing quarantine guidelines. While CO recognized the threat of the COVID-19 pandemic, it also paid attention to safety measures against natural calamities. END
