DFA-OMEAA Signs Condolence Book for the Late UAE President

PASAY CITY 16 May 2022 – Foreign Affairs Assistant Secretary for Middle East and African Affairs Alfonso for A. Ver visits the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Manila to sign the book of condolence for the late UAE President, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan early morning on 14 May 2022.
Assistant Secretary Ver conveyed the Department’s deepest sympathy on the passing of the UAE President, who has been instrumental in transforming the UAE to a global economic powerhouse. He also expressed the Philippines’ appreciation for the generous support extended by the UAE Government during His Highness Sheikh Khalifa’s reign, including its in-kind donations of personal protective equipment and COVID-19 vaccines last year.
Assistant Secretary Ver is the first Philippine Government official to sign the condolence book in the presence of UAE Ambassador His Excellency Mohamed Alqataam.
His Highness Sheikh Khalifa passed away on 13 May 2022 at the age of 73. END
