DFA OCA Conducts Apostille Briefing with PRC, HCCH

PASAY CITY 31 May 2022 – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA)-Office of Consular Affairs (OCA) conducted a virtual Apostille briefing on 25 May 2022 to update officials and employees of the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) on the Apostille Convention and its implementation in the Philippines.
In his keynote remarks, PRC Chairperson Teofilo S. Pilando, Jr. cited the Apostille Convention as one of the most widely applied multilateral treaties in the area of legal cooperation. PRC Chair Pilando thanked the DFA for taking the time to organize the online briefing for PRC officers and employees for greater awareness, involvement and collective sense of shared purpose in the implementation of the Convention in line with the Commission’s mandate.
Among the resource speakers of the online briefing were Mr. Brody Warren, Senior Legal Officer and Attaché, and Nicole Sims, Legal Officer and Attaché, both from The Hague Conference on Private International Law – Conférence de La Haye de droit international privé (HCCH), as well as DFA OCA Authentication Division Acting Director Dyan Kristine B. Miranda-Pastrana.
The online event, which is a joint project of DFA-OCA and PRC in coordination with HCCH, is part of DFA-OCA’s public information campaign on Apostille and was attended by a total of 166 participants. END
