DFA Mindanao Inaugurates Its Official Residence in Davao City

DAVAO 03 January 2024 – The Department of Foreign Affairs Mindanao inaugurates its official residence, on 28 December 2023 in Davao City. The 232 sqm property is located at Block 22, Lot 5, Gardenia Street, Montclair Highlands, Buhangin District. The Transfer Certificate of Title was issued to the Department on 26 January 2023.
The residence is the first property acquired by the Department of Foreign Affairs Mindanao and will serve as the official residence of the Assistant Secretary, as well as a venue to host functions for other events and meetings.
Distinguished guests during the inauguration were Councilor Bonz Andre A. Militar (representative of Mayor Sebastian Z. Duterte), Assistant Secretary Romeo M. Montenegro of the Mindanao Development Authority, Mr. Christian C. Cambaya, Unit Head, Investor’s Assistance and Servicing of the Davao City Investment Promotion Center and Ms. Delza Lourdes D. Bayabao, Head of Consular Office in Davao City.
Unveiling of the marker of the official residence of DFA Mindanao
DFA Mindanao was established on 15 March 1994 through Department Order 08-94. It is a geographic office of the DFA located in Davao City and is currently under the supervision of the Office of the Secretary. It was then called DFA South and was renamed DFA Mindanao on March 18, 1999.
DFA Mindanao’s mandate include engagements in economic diplomacy, engagements with the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), the advancement of BIMP-East ASEAN Growth Area, engagements with the Philippine Border Committee, four Consulates General in Davao City, 16 Honorary Consulates based in Mindanao, as well as the academe and civil society.
