DFA CO Puerto Princesa Conducts Crisis Management and Security Preparedness Seminar on CBRNE and Terrorism
PUERTO PRINCESA 12 January 2024 – In support of the observance of Community Development Week and Community Development Day, the Department of Foreign Affairs Consular Office - Puerto Princesa, in collaboration with 4th Air Reserve Center, Air Force Reserve Command of the Philippine Air Force and Robinsons Place - Palawan conducted a Crisis Management and Security Preparedness Seminar on Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, high-yield Explosives (CBRNE) and Terrorism on 11 January 2024 at the Expansion Area of Robinsons Palawan. Col. Eulogio M. Nabua, PAF (GSC), Commanding Officer of the 4th Air Reserve Center (4th ARCEN) served as the Resource Speaker and discussed the following topics:
- Salient Features of Crisis Management supporting reference
- Introduction to Terrorism
- Threats of CBRNE Terrorism
- Awareness on New Technology of Improvised Explosives Device (IED)
- Video clips on Advocacy Campaign on Counter-IED
Head of Consular Office Liza Jane V. Estalilla welcomed 110 participants consisting of representatives from other government offices such as the Philippine National Police (PNP), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA), and business establishments based in Robinsons Place- Palawan. She emphasized the need for all employees based at Robinsons Place - Palawan to be properly oriented on safety measures to take in response to various types of threats and crisis situations that they may encounter in their respective workplaces. She also informed the audience of the close cooperation that exists between CO Puerto Princesa and the 4th Air Reserve Center as 15 out of CO Puerto Princesa’s 25 personnel are Philippine Air Force Reservists.
In closing, Robinsons Place Manager Ms. Melody Angela Palanca thanked Col Nabua and Ms. Estalilla for initiating the seminar and encouraged the mall business representatives to share with their colleagues what they have learned from it for well-informed and concerted safety courses of action in crisis situations that may arise in the mall.
