CO personnel together with the focal person and MTA in-charge registered social worker from DSWD Caraga.

BUTUAN 22 July 2024 – DFA CO Butuan conducted an orientation on Minors Traveling Abroad as part of the National Anti-Trafficking in Persons Awareness Month 2024.

The orientation, attended by all CO personnel, highlighted the crucial roles of social workers during the assessment of the requirements for the issuance of clearance to minors traveling abroad. The guidelines for issuance were thoroughly discussed and explained by Ms. Rhiza L. Abing, a registered social worker and MTA focal person from DSWD Caraga.

In the course of the question and answer session, several clarifications were addressed.

The activity concluded on a positive note, with the CO personnel gaining knowledge about the requirements for the issuance of clearance to minors traveling abroad, as well as the grounds for the exception of the issuance. It was strongly noted that, as prime agencies, we can work together to achieve a common goal of protecting the welfare of minors and marginalized sectors of the community. END
