PASAY CITY 01 October 2024 – The Foreign Service Institute – Transition Programs Section (FSI – TPS) implemented the Pre-Departure Orientation Seminar for personnel of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) from 9 to 13 September 2024 at the Institute’s training room.
PDOS for DFA is designed for the latter’s personnel who are scheduled to be deployed abroad for their first overseas assignment. The seminar aims to orient participants on the functions and work of Foreign Service establishments, prepare them for relocation to a foreign environment, and create awareness on the need for cross-cultural adaptation. It further intends to acquaint participants with the challenges that may be commonly encountered while on overseas assignment, thus equipping them with the basic tools to respond more efficiently and effectively to situations at work.
Thirty-one personnel participated in this PDOS, twenty-nine of whom are from DFA while two are from the Social Security System (SSS), one of DFA’s partner agencies.
