Foreign Service Institute Conducts Training and Research Outreach Program in CO Cebu

Director General Francisco Noel R. Fernandez III delivers lecture on Introduction to Modern Slavery: Human Trafficking and Office Decorum.

CEBU 04 December 2024 - On 26 November 2024, Foreign Service Institute (FSI) Director General Francisco Noel R. Fernandez III delivered a lecture on Introduction to Modern Slavery: Human Trafficking and Office Decorum for the Consular Office (CO) in Cebu headed by Atty. Anika A. Fernandez and personnel of CO Tagbilaran.

In his lecture, Director General Fernandez discussed what constitutes human trafficking and highlighted the protocols against transnational crimes, particularly in preventing, suppressing, and punishing trafficking in persons and human smuggling. A refresher on Office Decorum in the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) and its offices was also given by the Director General to CO personnel.

The Training and Research Outreach (TRO) Program is an FSI initiative in response to the training requests received from Consular Offices of the DFA outside of Metropolitan Manila. To date, Consular Offices in Iloilo; Angeles, Pampanga; Dumaguete; Zamboanga; DasmariƱas, Cavite; and Cebu have availed of the training sessions offered by FSI under its TRO Program.
