University of San Agustin-Iloilo Students Visit FSI

University of San Agustin-Iloilo students engage with FSI officials.

MANILA 31 March 2025 — Students in the BS Foreign Service program of the University of San Agustin-Iloilo, accompanied by their faculty adviser, Atty. Noel Y. Sinco, visited the Foreign Service Institute (FSI) to gain insight into the Institute’s mandate and its crucial role in shaping the Philippine Foreign Service.

The students were received by Center for International Relations and Strategic Studies (CIRSS) Director Rhodora M. Joaquin, Carlos P. Romulo School of Diplomacy (CPRSD) Director Evelyn O. Katigbak, External Relations Officer Justine Joyce T. Estolano, and Mr. Jose Salvador R. Villa from CPRSD. FSI officials provided the students with an overview of the Institute’s training and research initiatives, encouraging them to actively participate in FSI programs, including those accessible remotely.

The Foreign Service Institute is the training and research agency attached to the Department of Foreign Affairs created under Presidential Decree No. 1060, as expanded by Republic Act No. 7157. The FSI Board is chaired by the Secretary of Foreign Affairs with the Chairperson of the Civil Service Commission (CSC), Director General of the Institute, President of the University of the Philippines (UP), and President of the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP) as members.
