FSI Conducts Training and Research Outreach Program in Malolos
Ms. Maria Alyanna B. Ocampo opened the TRO Program to participants in CO Malolos.
MANILA 31 March 2025 — As part of its initiatives to respond to the training needs of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), the Foreign Service Institute (FSI) conducted a session of its Training and Research Outreach Program (TRO) for personnel of the Consular Office (CO) in Malolos, Bulacan last 14 March 2025 at the CO’s premises.
The TRO program aims to provide fundamental knowledge and understanding of various topics deemed significant and relevant in the wide-ranging consular work of CO personnel.
The training focused on Office Decorum and Protocol. The FSI team facilitated the sessions through lecture discussions and practical activities. Sixteen personnel from CO Malolos participated in the training.
Ms. Maria Alyanna B. Ocampo, Assistant Chief Training Officer at the Carlos P. Romulo School of Diplomacy, discussed the key elements of Office Decorum to encourage office etiquette and emphasized the importance of maintaining professionalism while adhering to ethical standards to foster a respectful workplace environment and uphold the integrity of the DFA as a public institution.
Mr. O’myr Faisal Mustafa C. Abdalla, Acting Director at the Office of Protocol, imparted his knowledge and expertise on the basic concepts and principles of Protocol in dealing with visiting VIP guests and officials. He highlighted the importance of being an efficient Protocol Officer and the value of good representation in international diplomatic communities to uphold order, reputation, and relations.
Mini-workshops and simulation activities were conducted between the sessions for participants to apply their learning into application. END
