Philippines Participates in 32^nd ASEAN-New Zealand Dialogue and 4^th ASEAN-UK Senior Officials’ Meeting

MANILA 22 April 2025 — The Philippines participated in the 32nd ASEAN-New Zealand Dialogue and the 4th ASEAN-United Kingdom (UK) Senior Officials’ Meeting (SOM) held in Da Nang, Viet Nam, from 8 to 10 April 2025. ASEAN-Philippines Director General Ana Marie L. Hernando represented the Philippines at the said meetings. 

At the 32nd ASEAN-New Zealand Dialogue, the Philippines led discussions on Disaster Management, emphasizing its critical importance in light of the recent earthquake in Myanmar and the transboundary nature of such threats. DG Hernando also acknowledged New Zealand’s engagement with ASEAN in this area, including its collaboration with the AHA Centre through several initiatives. 

Meanwhile, at the 4th ASEAN-UK SOM, the Philippines, in its capacity as Country Coordinator for ASEAN-UK Economic Relations, provided updates on the progress of ASEAN-UK cooperation under the economic pillar. DG Hernando underscored ongoing collaboration in priority areas such as the digital economy, creative industries, and women entrepreneurship. END
