MANILA 15 July 2025 — The Department of Foreign Affairs, through its Human Resources Management Office (HRMO), successfully conducted a Webinar on GAD Planning and Budgeting for GAD Focal Point Officers (GFPOs) and Alternates on 08 and 09 July 2025 via the Zoom communications platform.

The virtual event brought together two hundred seventy nine (279) GFPOs and alternates from the Home Office, Consular Offices, and Foreign Service Posts around the world, reflecting the Department’s commitment to Goal 2 of the DFA’s GAD Agenda for CYs 2023 to 2028, which is to conduct an annual GPB workshop for GAD Planning and Budgeting to be integrated into the Department’s planning process.

Through the discussions led by GAD Specialists from the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW), the webinar provided the participants with a deeper understanding of the policy imperatives that drive GAD efforts. It also enabled them to identify relevant gender issues and mandates specific to the Department, learn the step-by-step procedure in formulating a GAD Plan and Budget, and familiarize themselves with the process and timeline for submission of GAD reports.

In her opening message, HRMO Executive Director Greg Marie C. Mariño stressed the importance of applying the gender lens in evaluating GAD programs and activities. As GAD advocates, participants are encouraged to ensure that the Department’s GAD Plan and Budget reflect interventions responsive to the challenges experienced by both women and men. END
