08 April 2016 – The Philippines and Monaco signed a Framework Agreement on Cooperation to further enhance relations between the two nations. The agreement was signed by Foreign Affairs Secretary Jose Rene D. Almendras and his counterpart Foreign Minister Gilles Tonelli of Monaco. The signing was witnessed by His Excellency President Benigno S. Aquino III and His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of the Principality of Monaco.

The agreement identifies four key areas of cooperation envisioned for further expansion, namely, economic, scientific, humanitarian and disaster risk reduction and management partnership, and environmental protection. END
