Public Advisory: On the Temporary Entry Restrictions to Liberia
11 March 2020 — The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) informs the Filipino public that the Liberian government, in its response to the 2019 coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, has imposed temporary entry restrictions to all Liberia-bound passengers.
Depending on the country of origin, travelers will be placed under the following measures:
1. Those residing in countries where there are more than 200 cases will immediately be placed at the Liberian government’s designated precautionary center for a mandatory 14-day monitoring;
2. Those arriving from / residing in countries with around 50 to 100 cases will be evaluated upon entry into Liberia, and will be placed under observation if the traveler’s specific geographic area of origin over the past 14 days has over 100 cases;
3. Those arriving from / residing in countries with less than 50 cases will be documented by the Liberian government and be asked to do self-monitoring and report immediately to concerned health authorities should they experience fever, cough, or respiratory distress; and
4. Holders of Laissez-passer passport or a new passport will be immediately taken for a second round of screening at a designated screening center, and will be placed under 14-day monitoring at the designated monitoring center, should they be found to be circumventing existing Liberian travel restrictions.
