Public Advisory: Number of COVID-19 Cases Among Filipinos Abroad (As of 31 March 2020)
As of 31 March 2020, 204* countries, areas, or territories around the world have confirmed cases of COVID-19; of which 30 countries/ regions covering Asia and Pacific, Europe, Middle East/Africa, and Americas have reported a total of 368 confirmed COVID-19 cases, 117 recoveries, and 9 deaths among OFs.
Some may notice some discrepancies based on yesterday's release. The DFA clarifies some changes in the confirmed cases and deaths in the European and American region. The reported death yesterday in the European region was that of a former Filipino (not a dual citizen), and therefore based on official documentation was not included in today's tally. The total number of deaths, however, remains the same at 9 since there was one reported demise in the Americas. Furthermore, upon further verification, one case reported in the Americas region was withdrawn, thereby reducing the number of countries reporting in that region down to one.
