Public Advisory: Number of COVID-19 Cases Among Filipinos Abroad (As of 04 April 2020)

Today is the 19th day of the Luzon-wide ECQ in the Philippines which started on 17 March (Proclamation No. 929). Other countries have adopted different approaches on quarantine restrictions and periods, as well as on lockdown measures to flatten the curve of COVID-19 cases.

Reports as of today show an 11% increase in the number of confirmed cases involving our OFs across the globe; of which 51 are new cases from the Americas, ASPAC, and Europe; 131 have recovered; 343 are undergoing treatment; and 43 deaths mostly from the Americas and Europe. These two regions have also recorded the highest number of COVID-19 cases for the past weeks.

With the shared global goal of containing the spread of COVID-19, the DFA personnel in our foreign service posts continue to partner with local health authorities and agencies in ensuring proper implementation of preventive measures and restrictions, and commit to attending to the needs of our kababayans affected by this pandemic.
