Public Advisory: Additional Update on Travel Restrictions Imposed upon Filipino Travelers

PASAY CITY 13 September 2020 - The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) reports new restrictions imposed upon Filipino travelers entering Nigeria. Meanwhile, previous information on travel restrictions for other countries and regions remain the same.

Since 05 September 2020, provisional quarantine protocols for all travelers arriving in Nigeria have been implemented, which include presentation of a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR at country of departure pre-boarding. The PCR test must be done within 96 hours before departure and preferably within 72 hours pre-boarding. Tests done more than the prescribed hours will not be considered valid and concerned travelers will not be allowed to board.

Furthermore, passengers/ travelers are required to register via an online national payment portal and pay for a repeat (second) PCR test upon arrival in Nigeria.

The DFA continues to remind the public that information contained in the infographics is subject to change without prior and sufficient public notice. Therefore, it is always best to check ahead of travel dates with airlines, as well as with relevant Embassies or Consulates before booking a ticket and before departure. END
