ASPAC Sri lanka Visa Waiver 2

11 October 2016 – Foreign Affairs Secretary Perfecto R. Yasay, Jr. and Her Excellency Aruni Ranaraja, Ambassador of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, signed the Philippines-Sri Lanka Waiver of the Visa Requirements for Holders of Diplomatic and Official Passports on October 07.

This agreement guarantees that holders of diplomatic and official passports from both countries will be allowed to enter, transit through, or stay in the territory of either country for up to thirty (30) days without obtaining a visa.

The signing ceremony was witnessed by DFA officials.

The signing of the agreement is a milestone in the commemoration this year of the 55th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between the Philippines and Sri Lanka. Diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Sri Lanka were established on 11 January 1961. END
