12 October 2016 –Philippine Foreign Affairs Secretary Perfecto R. Yasay, Jr. received the open letter of credence of H.E. Gordon Kricke of the Federal Republic of Germany on October 06.
During their meeting, Secretary Yasay and Ambassador-Designate Kricke exchanged views on the current state of Philippines-German bilateral relations and how to further strengthen them. Both agreed that trade and investments and development cooperation, especially in Mindanao, are key areas for growth.
Secretary Yasay assured Ambassador-Designate Kricke that the Philippines remains a steadfast partner of Germany in the region and explained the country’s positions vis-à-vis its ongoing campaign against illegal drugs and its continued firm commitment to human rights, the rule of law, and due process.
Ambassador-Designate Kricke was posted as German Ambassador to Niger and Haiti in addition to stints in Mexico, Sudan, Mozambique, and Argentina in various capacities. Prior to his posting to the Philippines, Ambassador-Designate Kricke was the Head of the EU Delegation in Angola. END.
