05 December 2016 — DFA Regional Consular Office La Union’s assigned Officers and Staff, led by Administrative Officer Judelyn M. Cuaresma and Finance Officer Lina G. Catbagan, participated in the AIDS Awareness Month and World AIDS Days to express solidarity in the World AIDS Day on December 01.

The event was spearheaded by the City Government of San Fernando, La Union in coordination with the Department of Health at the City Health Office (CHO) Marcos Building, City of San Fernando, La Union.

Various private and government agencies from San Fernando participated in the said event.  The event was followed by a parade around the city as part of the advocacy of the CHO to raise awareness on HIV-AIDS.

Participants from RCO La Union availed of the CHO and Wellness Center’s free blood screening for HIV, Hepatitis B, Syphilis after the parade and attended the orientation on HIV-AIDS which was conducted before the blood screening.

The celebration was headed by City Mayor Hermenegildo A. Gualberto through City Councilor Jessie Miranda as well as Dr. Eduardo S. Posadas, MD, City Health Officer II, and Dr. Godofredo A. Rilloraza, City Health Officer II.  END
