03 March 2017 – The Department of Foreign Affairs’ (DFA) Satellite Office NCR North joins the nation and the global community in raising awareness on the need to understand the nature of autism.
Throughout the week, DFA NCR North enjoined its applicants to commit themselves to 1 Pangako call for kindness towards those with autisms and created awareness on autism.
The nation’s call in 1 Pangako echoes the global community advocacy to create awareness on autism at all levels of society, in recognition of the rights of the child and all persons with disabilities set forth in UNGA Resolution 62/139.
The call for kindness is three-fold (i) accepting those with autism disability; (ii) contribute in facilitating their full development and (iii) assist in the pursuit of active participation in the society.
In an effort to demonstrate its solidarity with Quezon City Government – Office of Persons with Disability Affair Office (PDAO), DFA NCR North attended the seminar on autism entitled “Understanding Autism: Diagnosis and Intervention” organized by Association for Adults with Autism in the Philippines (AAAP) and expressed its support to PDAO’s programs during a meeting with City Administrator Aldrin C. Cuna prior to the seminar. END
