Philippines Organizes Forum for Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) Day

29 March 2017 MANILA — The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), in cooperation with the Foreign Service Institute (FSI) and the Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU), joins its Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) partners worldwide in celebration of the ASEM Day by organizing a forum on “Prospects for Greater Political-Security Cooperation between Asia and Europe” at the ADMU campus on March 16.
The forum, part of FSI’s Mabini Dialogue series, explored ways by which Asia and Europe can strengthen dialogue and cooperation on common political and security issues. It also served as an avenue for raising ASEM’s visibility and public awareness, particularly among students.
Ambassador Franz Jessen, Head of the Delegation of the European Union to the Philippines, Ms. Josephine M. Reynante, Executive Director of the DFA Office of European Affairs, and Herman Joseph S. Kraft, Associate Professor at the University of the Philippines, were some of the speakers. The event was attended by representatives rom the diplomatic community in the P7hilippines, professors and students of ADMU, and personnel from the DFA and the FSI. END
