Acting Secretary Manalo Signs Seven Agreements to Boost Ties Between PHL and GCC Countries
26 April 2017 Riyadh, KSA — Acting Secretary of Foreign Affairs Enrique A. Manalo and Foreign Minister Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir sign the Memorandum of Understanding on Political Consultations, as President Rodrigo Roa Duterte and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) King Salman Bin Abdulazziz Al Saud look on, launching a week of numerous agreements aimed at further strengthening ties between the Philippines and three Gulf Cooperation Council member states.
ASFA Manalo signed two other agreements in KSA that encourage cooperation in diplomatic training and labor. In Bahrain and Qatar, he signed four agreements on political consultations, education, taxation and culture.
President Duterte's states visits to KSA, Bahrain and Qatar from April 10 to 16 provided the government with an opportunity to explore further collaboration on various fields of cooperation with the countries visited. END
