Sixteen Newly Appointed Foreign Service Officers, Class IV, Take Oath in DFA
19 May 2017 – Sixteen (16) newly appointed Foreign Service Officers (FSOs), Class IV, who passed the 2015 Foreign Service Officer Examinations, took their oath before Undersecretary for Policy Enrique A. Manalo in the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) today.
The Oath Taking Ceremony was attended by Secretary Alan Peter S. Cayetano who assumed office on the same day. Together with the Undersecretaries, Assistant Secretaries, and the rest of the DFA community, Secretary Cayetano welcomed the new officers into the Foreign Service.
During his remarks, Undersecretary Manalo shared the importance of the DFA core values of patriotism, integrity, professionalism, excellence, and service as the new FSOs start their career as young diplomats. He further emphasized the need for the young diplomats to exhibit humility, work for the national interest, and serve the Filipino people.
The DFA congratulates the new FSOs.
