The Apostolic Nuncio, Archbishop Giuseppe Pinto, Affirms Shared Values with the Philippines in His Meeting with Secretary Alan Peter S. Cayetano

09 June 2017 - During the courtesy call of the Apostolic Nuncio and Dean of Diplomatic Corps Archbishop Giuseppe Pinto on Secretary Alan Peter S. Cayetano on June 02, the Nuncio affirmed The Holy See’s shared values with the Philippines, and highlighted the various initiatives of the Nunciature in the country, including inter-faith dialogues.

In response, Secretary Cayetano conveyed the love of the Filipino people for the Pope and their admiration for His Holiness’ current reforms. The Secretary likewise expressed gratitude for the support of The Holy See to the Philippines and its people.

The meeting also provided an opportunity for the Secretary to convey updates on the situation in Marawi, including government efforts to ensure the safety and welfare of affected persons. END
