05 July 2017 PASAY – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) organized a four-day intensive training on Internal Quality Audit (IQA) to equip a new batch of 25 new Quality Management System (QMS) auditors the knowledge, tools and understanding of the ISO 9001 standard. In April 2017, DFA received its first ISO 9001:2008 certification for the authentication process of the Office of Consular Affairs.

The new QMS auditors have undergone training on QMS awareness, IQA and effective audit writing on May 26, 30-31 and June 26. The new auditors also participated in a regular quality audit administered from June 15 to 21 which aimed to validate the compliance of the OCA Authentication Division and Support Offices (UA, UCSCC, OSEC, HRMO, OFMS, OPPC, OPD, OLA, ISU and OAMSS) on government regulations and the Department’s QMS.

Ms. Cynthia Ramirez, an ISO trainer and external auditor, trained the participants on auditing based on ISO 9001, the creation of structural audit program, writing of audit report and appreciation of the importance of QMS to make an organization more efficient and effective. The maintenance of DFA’s ISO 9001 certification of the authentication process is central to DFA’s commitment to deliver quality and efficient service to the public. END
