DFA-HRMO, The Medical City Conduct Seminar on Hypertension for DFA Personnel
12 July 2017 — As part of the Department of Foreign Affairs’ (DFA) vigorous efforts to promote the welfare and well-being of its personnel, the Human Resource Management Office conducted a seminar on hypertension last Thursday, 06 July 2017, from 2:00PM to 5:00PM, at the Bulwagang Elpidio Quirino, 14th Floor, DFA Building, for DFA personnel in the Home Office.
First in the series of health and wellness programs throughout the 2nd half of CY 2017 in partnership with The Medical City, the seminar aims to raise awareness on understanding and controlling high blood pressures among DFA personnel.
The seminar commenced with a lecture on the causes, prevalence and risk factors of hypertension and the medications to control this cardiovascular illness, facilitated by the medical team from The Medical City, led by Dr. Francis Charles Fernandez, an invasive/interventional cardiologist.
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) lecture and training was also included in the session where participants are taught about the proper way of doing the emergency procedure to people who are suffering from cardiac arrest.
Aside from CPR training, participants were also able to undergo electrocardiogram (ECG) procedures during the seminar. END
