DFA Observes National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Week

24 July 2017 MANILA — Through simple ceremonies at the lobby grounds on July 17, the personnel of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), together with their fellow co-workers with disabilities, kicked off the 39th National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Week with a flag raising ceremony.

During the morning ceremony, the Department and its missions abroad joined other government agencies and the Filipino nation in solidarity and commitment by reciting the Loyalty Pledge of an Advocate on the rights of persons with disabilities. Philippine Foreign Service Posts also read the message of Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Judy Taguiwalo.

The Department also hosted other commemorative activities by way of a film-screening of “Apolinario Mabini: The Sublime Paralytic,” and conducting a Disability Sensitivity Training and Basic Sign Language Literacy Course. END
