Philippines and Vietnam See Enhanced Cooperation

05 August 2017 - Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano and H.E. Pham Binh Minh, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam, met at the sidelines of the 50th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting (AMM) in Manila.

The Ministers expressed their desire to continue engagement at the highest-level and to convene existing bilateral dialogue mechanisms in various fields. Vietnam expressed its full support to the Philippines for its chairmanship of ASEAN this year. The Philippines also reiterated its support to Vietnam for its chairmanship of APEC in 2017

The Philippines and Vietnam forged a strategic partnership in 2015, ushering an era of more intensified bilateral cooperation. END
