DFA ATN Assessment Team Embarks on a 3-Day Listening Tour in the Gulf

04 September 2017 — DFA Office of Migrant Workers’ Affairs (OMWA) Undersecretary Sarah G. Arriola led an Assistance to Nationals Assessment Team to Qatar from August 08 to 10 as a part of the three-leg listening tour of OMWA in the Gulf.
During her visit to Qatar, Undersecretary Arriola met with officials of the Ministry of Interior (MOI) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) where she reiterated the appreciation of the Philippine government on the warm and generous hosting by the Qatari government during the visit of the President in April 2017.
Her interaction with the Qatari officials also provided an opportunity for the Undersecretary to introduce her portfolio at the DFA and how her office could collaborate with the MOI and MOFA, which also handle concerns of migrant workers.
Undersecretary Arriola also met with the Filipino community in Qatar where she fielded various questions and concerns of the audience. She also visited the Migrant Workers and Other Filipino Resource Center (MWOFRC), which houses some 100 wards with labor and police cases. END
