18 September 2017 - In line with President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s vision to bring consular services closer to the public, the Department of Foreign Affairs and the North Beacon Commercial Corporation (NBCC) formally signed the renewal of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on September 14, for the NBCC’s continued hosting of DFA-Regional Consular Office in Marquee Mall in Angeles, Pampanga.
On behalf of Secretary Alan Peter S. Cayetano, the Undersecretary for Civilian Security and Consular Concerns, Hon. Jose Luis G. Montales, signed the MOA for the DFA, while Ms. Maria Aurora C. Legarda (Area Head, Ayala Malls/North Malls) signed for NBCC. The signing ceremony was also graced by officials of the Department and NBCC.
In his message, Undersecretary Montales emphasized that the signing of the renewal of contract (MOA) will enable DFA to continue providing excellent consular services, particularly to passport applicants in Angeles, Pampanga and nearby areas.
For her part, Ms. Aurora, Area Head, Ayala Malls/North Malls, thanked the DFA for renewing its partnership with NBCC while noting that this endeavor will make consular services more accessible to the people of Pampanga.
The MOA between the Department of Foreign Affairs and North Beacon Commercial Corporation, which is part of the Ayala Group, provides for the rent-free hosting of DFA’s RCO Angeles by Marquee Mall under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. END
