22 November 2013 - ASEAN Secretary General Le Luong Minh called on Foreign Affairs Secretary Albert F. del Rosario today to discuss ASEAN’s humanitarian assistance for the Philippines in the aftermath of typhoon Yolanda. 

The Secretary General, in his capacity as the ASEAN Humanitarian Assistance Coordinator, and the ASEAN Coordinating Centre for Humanitarian Assistance on Disaster Management (AHA Centre) are coordinating ASEAN’s collective contributions of relief goods and assistance to the affected areas.

The AHA Centre monitored the progression of Typhoon Yolanda and sent a five-member Emergency Rapid Assessment Team (ERAT) to coordinate with NDRRMC authorities and discuss possible relief support for the Philippines. The ERAT went to Tacloban on 07 November to provide on-site coordination of ASEAN assistance. END
