DFAMPC Donates Cosmetology Equipment to the Philippine School for the Deaf
27 October 2017 MANILA – The DFA Multi-Purpose Cooperative (DFAMPC) donated P50,000 worth of cosmetology equipment to the Philippine School for the Deaf (PSDS) in Pasay City. The turn-over ceremony on was attended by all officials and teachers of the PSDS and DFAMPC officials on October 23.
The donation, undertaken as part of the cooperative’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), consists of a 2-in-1 Massage and Facial Bed, a Facial Steamer with Magnifying Lamp, a UV Sterilizer and a Hot Cabinet.
In her acceptance speech, OIC Principal Dr. Rosalie R. Condes conveyed the sincere appreciation of the school and its faculty for receiving the donation and announced that the donation now makes it possible for the School to raise their cosmetology classes to a higher level as they make the courses available to Level 11 students. Graduates of the cosmetology class will be able to find employment in beauty parlors or go into their own business after graduating from K-12.
DFAMPC’s collaboration with the PSDS began during a Tree Planting Activity organized by the City of Pasay last August 24 which was held at the PSDS grounds and participated in by DFAMPC officers.
The semi-residential Philippine School for the Deaf (PSDS), formerly known as the School for the Deaf and Blind (SDB), is the pioneer school for the handicapped in the country and in Asia, and the only government-owned institution for the deaf in the country. END
