“Colors of Asia-Pacific” Displayed on the Runway

15 December 2017 — The Office of Asian and Pacific (ASPAC) hosted a year-end diplomatic reception and fashion show, Colors of Asia-Pacific,” in recognition of the continuing positive and warm relations with countries in the Asia and Pacific on December 13. This year, ASPAC partnered with renowned Filipino fashion designer Renee Salud to conceptualize a unique take on showcasing our interweaving bilateral relations using multiple national fabric generously provided by diplomatic missions from the Asia Pacific region. The fashion show also presented some of Renee Salud’s Filipiniana designs from his Philippine Tapestry collection. The celebration was attended by various foreign diplomatic missions in the Philippines, Philippine government agencies, partner institutions, among others.

In their respective messages, ASPAC Assistant Secretary Millicent Cruz-Paredes expressed her gratitude and heartfelt appreciation to the Office’s partners, and narrated the milestone being celebrated while Undersecretary for Policy Enrique A. Manalo looked back to the colorful 2017 the Department has shared with its partners in the Asia-Pacific region as it celebrated unity in cultural diversity through textiles which represent the many imaginations of a vibrant region.
