Undersecretary Ernesto Abella Visits Belgium and Luxembourg; Meets with Filipino Community and EU Officials

06 February 2018 MANILA — DFA Undersecretary for Strategic Communication and Research Ernesto C. Abella visited Belgium and Luxembourg from 30 January to 02 February to reach out to the Filipino communities in the area and to update them on the ongoing developments in the Philippines under the administration of President Rodrigo R. Duterte.

During his keynote address in each of his visits, Undersecretary Abella provided a comprehensive discussion of the President’s vision for the Philippines and the Filipino people. He emphasized the significant role every Filipino overseas can play in nation building and encouraged them to continue their initiatives in this area.

The Undersecretary also visited the European External Action Service (EEAS) on 31 January where he met Mr. Gunnar Wiegand, Managing Director for Asia and the Pacific. Both parties discussed developments in PH-EU relations. END
