PH, Germany Exchange Instruments of Ratification of the Social Security Agreement

Undersecretary Enrique A. Manalo and German Ambassador Gordon Kricke exchange Instruments of Ratification to facilitate the entry into force of the PH-Germany Social Security Agreement.

27 March 2018 MANILA – The Philippines and Germany exchanged Instruments of Ratification of the Social Security Agreement (SSA) in Manila on March 23. The SSA was signed in Berlin, Germany on 19 September 2014. The Senate of the Philippines concurred in the ratification of the said Agreement on 22 January 2018.

Upon its entry into force on 01 June 2018, the Agreement is expected to contribute to equality of treatment and allow the exportability of benefits to nationals of both countries, improve processing of claims and eliminate dual coverage.

A protocol documenting the exchange was signed by Undersecretary Enrique A. Manalo and German Ambassador Gordon Kricke. END
